The updo hair style can have many shapes and sizes.  There is the partial updo, the curly updo, the sleek updo, the fancy updo and more.
 

JoJo has a very simple to re-create hair style.  This type of style, see photo left, is great if you want something more than just wearing your hair down and long.

The hair is parted deep on one side.  Take a section of the hair next to the side where the part is located and gently twist it.  Use a decorative pin or clip to clip the hair past the twist. 

Adding the side twist makes this style very unique, along with the side-swept bangs and wavy ends.  Highlights and lowlights will really sparkle on the side where you have made the small twist.

Eva Longoria has a curly updo hair style.  The hair is curled before pulling it up by using a curling iron.  Wrap small sections of hair into the curling iron and hold in a vertical position to create the corkscrew-like curls.

Add extra height to the crown are by back combing very small sections of hair and then smoothing over the top with your fingers.
